Job Description:
A CMM Quality Engineer (Standard Room) role focuses on operating, programming, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Targeting 2 to 4 years of experience, this role requires evaluating, calibrating, and approving quality setups for auto-component manufacturing.
Core Job Description & Responsibilities
- CMM Operation & Programming: Write, edit, and execute CMM programs to measure complex machined and cast auto-components.
- Setup Approvals: Validate new part setups and provide first-article inspection approvals
- Quality & Metrology: Maintain Standard Room operations and safely operate testing instruments (surface roughness, hardness testers, calipers, and micrometers).
- Calibration & MSA: Calibrate monitoring and measuring devices (using NABL certified labs) and perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies.
- Core Quality Tools: Utilize industry standards such as PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP, SPC, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in CMM operations (PC-DMIS or Calypso software familiarity is preferred)
