Job Description:
Job Title: Store Incharge – Eyeglass Manufacturing Unit
Department: Stores / Materials Management
Reporting To: Production Manager / Factory Head
Location: Manufacturing Plant
Job Summary:
The Store Incharge will be responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and proper accounting of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods in an eyeglass manufacturing unit. The role ensures accurate inventory control, timely availability of materials for production, and maintaining proper records and compliance with store procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Receive, verify, and record incoming raw materials (lenses, frames, screws, packaging material, etc.)
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of all materials
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels
- Monitor inventory movement and prevent stock discrepancies
Material Issuance
- Issue raw materials to production as per requisitions
- Maintain proper documentation for all inward and outward material flow
- Coordinate with production team for daily material requirements
Record Keeping & Documentation
- Maintain stock registers (manual or ERP system)
- Update daily stock entries and inventory reports
- Conduct periodic stock reconciliation and cycle counts
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure received goods match quality standards and specifications
- Report damaged or defective materials to management
- Maintain compliance with internal audit and safety standards
Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers for delivery schedules and shortages
- Assist purchase department in tracking pending materials
Housekeeping & Safety
- Ensure proper storage conditions to avoid damage or loss
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the store area
Reporting
- Provide daily/weekly/monthly stock reports
- Highlight stock shortages, excess inventory, or dead stock items
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of inventory and store management
- Experience in manufacturing/optical/precision industry preferred
- Basic understanding of ERP/MIS systems (preferred)
- Good numerical and record-keeping skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong coordination and communication skills
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline (preferred Commerce/Science)
- Diploma in Material Management is an added advantage
Experience:
- 0.5–5 years of experience in store/inventory management (manufacturing industry preferred)
