We are a leading Insurance Broking organization committed to providing customized risk management and insurance solutions to corporate and retail clients. We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Underwriter – Non-Motor Insurance to join our growing team in Gurugram.

Job Summary

The Underwriter – Non-Motor Insurance will be responsible for evaluating risks, preparing quotations, coordinating with insurance companies, and ensuring timely issuance and servicing of non-motor insurance policies. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical underwriting knowledge across various non-motor insurance products and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Underwriting & Risk Assessment

• Assess and evaluate risks related to non-motor insurance products.
• Analyze client requirements and obtain competitive quotations from insurers.
• Review proposal forms, underwriting information, and supporting documents.
• Evaluate risk exposure and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and company policies.

Policy Placement & Servicing

• Coordinate with insurance companies for quotations, negotiations, policy issuance, and endorsements.
• Process policy renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
• Ensure timely issuance and delivery of policy documents.
• Maintain accurate underwriting and policy records.

Product Handling

Manage underwriting activities for:

• Fire Insurance
• Engineering Insurance
• Marine Insurance
• Property Insurance
• Liability Insurance
• Group Health Insurance
• Miscellaneous Non-Motor Insurance Products

Client & Insurer Coordination

• Liaise with insurers, clients, and internal teams for policy servicing.
• Resolve underwriting and documentation-related queries.
• Support relationship managers and sales teams in policy placement activities.
• Assist clients with policy coverage clarifications and product selection.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain underwriting files and policy documentation.
• Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations and compliance requirements.
• Prepare MIS reports and underwriting performance reports.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline (Insurance, Commerce, Finance, or Business preferred).
• Professional insurance qualifications such as III, Licentiate, Associate, or Fellowship will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in Non-Motor Insurance Underwriting.
• Experience with an Insurance Broker, Insurance Company, or Third-Party Administrator (TPA).
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles and insurance products.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Fire, Marine, Engineering, Liability, Property, and Health Insurance products.
• Strong underwriting and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and insurance portals.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
