Job Description:
Responsibilities include:
A. Production Planning & Manufacturing Operations
1. Production Management
• Overall responsibility for production operations of sugar machinery and process equipment
manufacturing.
• Planning and monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly production activities to achieve production
targets.
• Ensuring optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and resources.
2. Production Planning & Control
• Preparation and monitoring of production schedules as per project timelines.
• Ensuring timely availability of materials, consumables, and production resources.
• Monitoring bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions to improve production flow.
3. Manufacturing Supervision
• Supervision of fabrication, machining, assembly, welding, and dispatch activities.
• Supervision and coordination with fabrication contractors.
• Monitoring shop floor activities to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to delivery
schedules.
• Coordination with design and project teams for smooth execution of manufacturing
requirements.
B. Quality, Safety & Process Improvement
1. Quality Control Coordination
• Ensuring production activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality
standards.
• Coordination with QA/QC department for inspection and quality compliance.
• Monitoring rework, rejection, and wastage reduction initiatives.
2. Safety & Compliance
• Ensuring implementation of safety practices and statutory compliance in production areas.
• Conducting safety reviews and promoting safe working culture across the shop floor.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and manufacturing procedures.
3. Continuous Improvement
• Driving productivity improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization initiatives.
• Implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other operational excellence practices.
• Identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement.
C. Team Management & Coordination
1. Manpower Management
• Leading and mentoring production teams, supervisors, and shop floor personnel.
• Monitoring manpower deployment, discipline, attendance, and performance.
• Developing team capabilities through technical guidance and training.
2. Interdepartmental Coordination
• Coordination with design, procurement, quality, stores, maintenance, and projects departments.
• Ensuring smooth communication and resolution of production-related issues.
• Supporting management in production reviews and operational planning.
3. Customer & Site Support
• Supporting site teams and customers for manufacturing-related technical issues.
• Participation in project review meetings and customer inspections whenever required.
We are looking for:
• Strong experience in heavy fabrication and manufacturing operations.
• Experience in sugar industry machinery manufacturing will be preferred.
• Strong leadership and production management capabilities.
• Knowledge of welding, machining, assembly, and process equipment manufacturing.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, productivity improvement, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Knowledge of ASME / ISO standards.
• Knowledge of welding qualifications and certification requirements.
• Ability to manage large production teams and achieve delivery targets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• 20 to 25 years of relevant experience in manufacturing industry.
