Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Assistant Manager – Agro Pulping Design to join our Design & Engineering team. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing agro-based pulping systems and equipment used in pulp and paper manufacturing. The role requires extensive knowledge of agro residue pulping processes, equipment design, project engineering, and customer-focused technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop agro pulping systems and process layouts for paper mills utilizing agricultural residues such as wheat straw, bagasse, rice straw, and other non-wood raw materials.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Design and optimize pulpers, digesters, screening systems, cleaning systems, and stock preparation equipment.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, manufacturing, project, and sales teams for successful project execution.
• Evaluate customer requirements and develop customized engineering solutions.
• Conduct technical calculations related to mass balance, process efficiency, equipment sizing, and plant capacity.
• Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites when required.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
• Participate in technology upgrades, product development initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
• Prepare technical proposals, project documentation, and engineering reports.
• Collaborate with international customers and consultants for project discussions and technical clarifications.

Required Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Pulp & Paper Technology, or a related discipline.
• Additional certification in Design Engineering or Process Engineering will be an advantage.

Experience

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in Agro Pulping Design, Pulp & Paper Machinery Design, Process Engineering, or Stock Preparation Systems.
• Experience in designing agro-based pulping plants and equipment is highly preferred.
• Exposure to project engineering and paper mill processes will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of agro pulping processes and paper manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of stock preparation systems, pulping equipment, screening, cleaning, and refining processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or other 3D design software.
• Ability to prepare engineering calculations, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of process optimization and equipment performance improvement.
• Familiarity with international engineering standards and industrial safety requirements.
