Job Description:

Sr. Executive / Deputy Manager – Contract Purchase / MRO

Location

Vadodara, Gujarat

Qualification

  • B.E. / B.Tech (Any Engineering Discipline)
  • MBA (Supply Chain / Materials Management) preferred

Experience

  • 7–10 years in Contract Procurement, MRO Purchase, Plant Procurement, or Indirect Procurement.
  • Preference for candidates from Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharma, Engineering, or Manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Purchase

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of annual rate contracts and service contracts.
  • Handle AMC contracts, manpower contracts, fabrication contracts, utility contracts, transportation contracts, and maintenance service agreements.
  • Prepare RFQs, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, and finalize contracts.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contract governance.

MRO Procurement

  • Procure Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) items including:
    • Mechanical spares
    • Electrical components
    • Instrumentation items
    • Safety materials
    • Consumables and general plant requirements
  • Ensure timely availability of critical spares to avoid production downtime.
  • Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, and Operations teams.

Vendor Management

  • Develop and evaluate suppliers.
  • Conduct vendor performance reviews.
  • Identify alternate sources to reduce procurement risks.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.

Cost Optimization

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives through negotiations and supplier consolidation.
  • Monitor market trends and commodity prices.
  • Execute value engineering and sourcing improvement projects.

ERP & Documentation

  • Generate and manage Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and contracts through ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Maintain procurement records, contract database, and audit documentation.
  • Track procurement KPIs and prepare MIS reports. SAP-based procurement experience is commonly expected for such roles.

Compliance

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Follow EHS and statutory procurement requirements.
