Engineer/ Sr. Engineer NPD (Weld Shop)

Responsible for planning, developing, validating, and implementing welding processes, fixtures, equipment, and tooling for new product introduction in the Weld Shop. The role involves process optimization, quality validation, APQP/PPAP activities, fixture development, customer requirements implementation, and ensuring smooth production launch of new models.

Responsibilitiy :

1. Develop and implement welding processes for new product introduction.
2. Conduct line trials and validate process feasibility and cycle time.
3. Verify weld quality through destructive and non-destructive testing.
4. Prepare weld nugget sheets, process documents, BOM, BOP, SOP/SOS, and engineering records.
5. Review product drawings, GD&T requirements, and fixture designs.
6. Develop, modify, and validate welding fixtures, pallets, trolleys, and material handling systems.
7. Coordinate installation and commissioning of welding equipment and production lines.
8. Perform weld parameter setup and process optimization.
9. Handle Engineering Work Orders (EWO) and implement engineering changes.
10. Lead APQP, PPAP, and customer approval activities.
11. Support production during trial builds and mass production ramp-up.
12. Drive Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives for quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
13. Coordination with customers
14. Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
15. Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
16. Undertake special projects as and when required.
17. Ensure good 5S and safety practices at the workplace.
18.  Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental and other HR Policies.

Work Experience :

5–8 years of experience in Weld Shop Process Engineering, NPD, or Manufacturing Engineering with exposure to new model development and customer approvals.
