Job Description:

• Overall responsibility for Purchasing (Direct Material and Capex) and Cost Estimating activities across the business.
• Develops strategic plans for efficient procurement of material and process improvement and translates them into standard processes and systems to minimise lead time and cost. • Commodity expert of Steel & Non-ferrous metal like Copper, Brass, Bronze, Zinc, Nickel. • Expertise in CAPEX.
• Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
• Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
• Take ownership of the purchasing policy, guidelines and any associated documents.
• Initiate and develop, creative and innovative procurement processes (eProcurement).
• Manage commodity pricing and forecasting.
• Assists the SBU Heads in developing a strategy for long-term for Direct Material.
• Exposure to source various Raw material grades used in Steel and Auto industries.
• Evaluate supplier capacity and capability.
• Responsible for managing relationships and negotiating with key suppliers at a senior and strategic level.
• Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Analyse market scenario for different commodities. • Awareness of various Raw material grades and standard used in Copper/Brass industry.
• Reviews the key performance metrics of the function on periodic basis and intervene as and when necessary.
• Monitors performance of the function against set goals and against the budget on a periodic basis
• Mentors and grooms high-potential employees, to ensure their career growth and succession readiness for key positions in the department.
• Monitors the performance of employees within the department and take actions wherever necessary.
