Job Purpose

Primary
Responsibilities

• Develops strategic plans for efficient procurement of material and process
improvement and translates them into standard processes and systems to minimise
lead time and cost.
• Commodity expert of Steel, Casting, Non-ferrous metal like Copper, Brass, Bronze,
Zinc, Nickel.
• Exposure to vendor development for above mentioned commodities.
• Exposure to Global procurement.
• Formulates purchase risk management strategy and manage commodity pricing and
forecasting.
• Assists the SBU Heads / Engineering in developing a strategy for long-term for Direct
Material.
• Exposure to source various Raw material grades used in Stell and electrical industries.
• Evaluate supplier capacity and capability.
• Analyse market scenario for different commodities.
• Awareness of various Raw material grades and standard used in Copper/Brass
industry.
• Preparation of Quote Synthesis.
• Reviews the key performance metrics of the function on periodic basis and intervene
as and when necessary.
• Monitors performance of the function against set goals and against the budget on a
periodic basis
• Mentors and grooms high-potential employees, to ensure their career growth and
succession readiness for key positions in the department.

B.E. – Mechanical / M.B.A. (Materials
Management / Supply Chain Management) 8-12 years of industry experience
