Position: Line Engineer / In-charge (High-Speed PET Beverage Production Line)
No of vacancy- 01

Department: Production & Maintenance
Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Manager

Job Purpose

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of the complete production line to ensure maximum equipment availability, minimum breakdowns, and efficient plant operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take complete responsibility for assigned high-speed PET production line.
  • Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
  • Minimize downtime through quick troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Plan preventive maintenance and ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and manpower.
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance technicians during shifts.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot palletizers, stretch wrappers, conveyors, coding systems, and packaging equipment.
  • Maintain packaging machines (Shrink wrap, Palletizer, stretch wrap) - Robopac, ACMI, Krones Variopac, and similar
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Videojet laser printers and coding systems.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new production lines.
  • Maintain maintenance records and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and maintenance standards.

Qualification

  • Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on experience in high-speed PET beverage bottling plants.
  • Experience with SACMI equipment is highly preferred; experience with Krones, Sidel, or KHS is also acceptable.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Blowing, filling, capping machine, labeling Machine, packaging equipment (Shrink wrap), conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrapping systems.
  • Experience in installation and commissioning of beverage production lines is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of PLC, HMI, VFDs, and industrial automation will be an added advantage.
  • Good leadership, planning, and manpower management skills.
  • Experience working in Africa is preferred.
  • Good communication skills in English (French is an advantage).
