Maintenance Foreman – Beverage Manufacturing

Department: Engineering & Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager

Job Purpose

Lead the maintenance team to ensure maximum equipment availability, minimum downtime, and safe operation of production and utility equipment. Plan and execute preventive maintenance, supervise technicians, and support installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise maintenance technicians to ensure smooth plant operation.
  • Attend machine breakdowns and restore production with minimum downtime.
  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Production to maximize equipment availability and efficiency.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and maintenance resources.
  • Supervise maintenance activities and maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new production lines and utility equipment.

Qualification

  • 12th Pass / Higher Secondary with ITI, Trade Certificate, Technical Diploma, or equivalent qualification in the relevant trade.

Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years of maintenance experience in the beverage or food manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum 3 years as a Foreman or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Experience with SACMI equipment is highly preferred; experience with Krones, KHS, or Sidel is also acceptable.
  • Experience with Robopac, ACMI, Dematic, and Krones Variopac packaging equipment is an advantage.
  • Experience in installation, commissioning, and startup of new production lines.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, valves, compressors, and lubrication systems.
  • Good planning, leadership, and manpower management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with Production, Quality, Utilities, and Stores.
  • Experience working in Africa will be an added advantage.
