Job Description:
This position is for a Polymer Laboratory development Scientist with the following job responsibilities:
1. Establishing a polymerization laboratory that includes;
- Developing methods and processes for testing and validation of polyolefin catalysts and the resulting polymers.
- Procure necessary equipment for polyolefin catalyst testing and polymer characterization.
2. Candidates must have basic knowledge of different Unit operation, Handling of high pressure autoclave, Hydrogenation, Chlorination, Bromination, Handling of moisture sensitive products, Polymer catalyst and Polymerization experience will be an added advantage.
3. Responsible for hiring necessary support manpower and training them for polymerization techniques and polymer characterization. Ensures team members consistently apply & follow safety guidelines, actively evaluates and addresses safety risks in the laboratory.
4. Provide technical support to the business head for product approvals and product related troubleshooting.
Education qualifications and experience requirements -
- PhD in Chemistry with 10-15 years experience is required.
- Proven hands on expertise in polyolefin catalyst testing and polymer characterization
- Experience in heterogeneous catalysis will be an added advantage
- Demonstrated experience in people/talent management
- Leadership skills to work with highly talented people
- Ability to create, foster and drive culture for innovation
- Highly Self-motivated.
- Excellent interpersonal & English communication skills
