PURCHASE MANAGER FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - HARARE , ZIMBABWE , SOUTH AFRICA

Job Description:

• Lead and manage the complete procurement and purchasing function of the organization.
• Develop sourcing strategies to ensure timely procurement of materials, products, and services at competitive prices.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
• Coordinate with stores, logistics, accounts, and user departments to ensure smooth procurement operations.
• Monitor inventory levels and plan purchases to avoid stock shortages or excess inventory.
• Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual terms, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain procurement MIS reports, vendor databases, purchase records, and documentation.
• Drive cost optimization, process improvement, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Candidates with experience in procurement, vendor management, supply chain, trading, or commercial purchasing will be preferred.
