Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Management (Logistics)

Job Description:

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Logistics Assistant Manager to support daily logistics
operations, including material planning, inbound and outbound transportation, warehouse coordination,
inventory control, customs clearance, and supplier/customer delivery follow-up.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring materials and finished goods are delivered on time, at the
right cost, and in compliance with company requirements. This role requires strong coordination with
suppliers, transporters, production, purchase, warehouse, finance, and customers.

2. Job duty:
1) Manage daily logistics operations, including inbound materials, outbound deliveries, warehouse
coordination, and transportation arrangements
2) Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, freight forwarders, CHA, warehouse, production,
purchase, and customer teams to ensure smooth material movement
3) Follow up on domestic and import shipments, including shipment status, delivery schedule,
customs clearance, and document collection
4) Prepare and maintain logistics-related documents such as invoice, packing list, e-way bill, delivery
challan, LR copy, GRN, transporter bills, customs documents, and shipment tracking reports.
5) Monitor inventory movement and support warehouse stock accuracy, FIFO control, and material
handling process improvement.
6) Ensure timely delivery of raw materials, components, tools, machines, and finished goods to meet
production and customer requirements.
7) Track logistics cost and support cost reduction activities, including freight negotiation, route
optimization, transporter performance review, and loading efficiency improvement.
8) Review transporter and CHA bills and coordinate with finance for payment processing after
verification.
9) Handle import/export logistics coordination, including customs clearance, duty payment follow-up,
shipment tracking, and coordination with forwarders.
10) Support problem-solving for delivery delays, material shortages, damaged goods, document
issues, and customer/supplier complaints.
11) Maintain MIS reports related to shipment status, delivery performance, logistics cost, inventory
movement, and pending issues.
12) Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, statutory requirements, and logistics
documentation procedures.
13) Lead and guide logistics executives, warehouse staff, and transport coordinators to ensure
smooth daily operations.
14) Support audits, customer visits, internal reviews, and continuous improvement activities related to logistics and warehouse operations.

Communicate with forwarders/CHA/Suppliers(Sometimes)

4. Job characteristics:
Working type: General shifts. Working overtime when needed
Working environment: Production workshop and office
Work resources: Computer, telephone, etc.

5. Skills:
1) Strong knowledge of domestic logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, and inventory
control.
2) Basic understanding of import/export procedures, customs clearance, Incoterms, GST, e-way bill,
and logistics documentation.
3) Good communication and coordination skills.
4) Strong follow-up ability and problem-solving mindset.
5) Ability to work under pressure and manage urgent delivery requirements.
6) Good Excel and MIS reporting skills.
7) Knowledge of ERP/SAP system will be an advantage.
8) Ability to manage transporters, suppliers, CHA, freight forwarders, and internal departments.
