Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Oncologist to provide comprehensive cancer care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, systemic therapy, and long-term patient management. The ideal candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, patient-centric oncology care while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients by reviewing medical history, clinical symptoms, and diagnostic findings.
  • Interpret laboratory reports, imaging studies, pathology, and biopsy results to diagnose and stage various cancers.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient's diagnosis, stage of disease, overall health, and treatment goals.
  • Prescribe, administer, and monitor systemic cancer therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy where applicable.
  • Monitor treatment response, manage therapy-related side effects, and modify treatment plans as required.
  • Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, expected outcomes, and potential risks.
  • Coordinate care with Surgical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Pathologists, Radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary treatment approach.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with medical and ethical standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in oncology, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based treatment protocols through continuous medical education and research.

Required Qualifications

  • DM / DrNB / DNB in Medical Oncology or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.
  • Relevant post-specialization experience in Medical Oncology.

Required Skills

  • Strong expertise in cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment planning.
  • Hands-on experience in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and systemic oncology treatments.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-focused care.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records and clinical documentation.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel across Ahmedabad and nearby locations as required.
  • Flexible to work on Sundays or emergency duties based on the clinical roster.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centric healthcare environment.
