Job Description:
Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified and licensed Pharmacist to ensure the safe, accurate, and effective dispensing of medications while supporting high standards of patient care. The role involves reviewing prescriptions, dispensing medicines, counseling patients, managing pharmacy inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, contraindications, and potential drug interactions.
- Dispense medications in accordance with physician prescriptions and hospital protocols.
- Provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers regarding dosage, administration, side effects, and storage.
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.
- Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions and report medication-related concerns.
- Maintain proper storage, handling, and inventory of medicines, including high-risk and oncology medications where applicable.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and ensure timely replenishment of medicines and medical supplies.
- Maintain pharmacy records, billing documentation, controlled drug registers, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH guidelines, and applicable pharmacy regulations.
- Participate in medication safety initiatives and continuous quality improvement programs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) may be considered as per regulatory requirements and relevant experience.
- Valid Pharmacy Council Registration (State Pharmacy Council) is mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital, multispecialty hospital, oncology center, or healthcare organization.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy or oncology pharmacy will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and drug safety.
- Ability to review prescriptions and identify potential medication errors or drug interactions.
- Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, inventory management, and controlled drug handling.
- Familiarity with oncology medications and chemotherapy drug handling is an added advantage.
- Good communication and patient counseling skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and MS Office.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Pharmacist License/Registration is mandatory.
- Willingness to travel across Ahmedabad as required.
- Flexible to work on Sundays as per the duty roster, with a compensatory weekly off on another day.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining high standards of patient safety and service quality.
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :
Year of Experience –2 years
Salary-Max 30 k (15 to 20 % hike on current)
Shift timing-10-7pm /11-8 pm (rotation) ,Sunday will be working after sometime ( week off they can take any day against Sunday)
License required – Need to submit when they will join.
