Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement and monitor comprehensive health and safety strategies, policies and
management system ( e.g. ISO 45001) that integrates all business operations.
Risk Management: Oversee the identification of potential hazards specific to heavy engineering (e.g. heavy
machinery, high-risk operation or activities, electrical hazards), conduct thorough risk assessment and
implement effective control measures.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all local, national and international safety regulations and
standards (e.g. OSHA, NPFA). Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies and
agencies.
Incident Management: Lead and manage investigations into all accidents, incidents, and near-misses to
determine root cause and develop and implement robust corrective action plans to prevent recurrences.
Training and Culture: Design and implement effective safety training programs and awareness campaigns for all
employees, promoting a proactive “ Safety First ” culture throughout the organization.
Auditing and reporting: Plan and conduct regular, comprehensive safety audits and inspections across all the
Units and facilities. analyze safety performance data and metrics to report trends to issue to senior management.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and coordinate emergency response to plans and procedures, including fire
safety and evacuation drills.
Collaboration: Work closely with operation teams including all unit heads to ensure safety policies are being
followed down the level across the organization.
CERTIFICATIONS: Relevant professional certification such as CERTIFIED SAFETY PROFESSIONAL
(CSP) OR NEBOSH qualifications are highly valued.


TECHNICAL SKILLS:
* In-depth knowledge of safety regulations (e.g. OSHA) and standards (e.g. 45001)
* Proficiency in risk management methodologies.
* Familiarity with industrial hygiene principles, machine safety, and heavy material handling.


SOFT SKILLS :

Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential for
influencing change and collaborating with diverse team.
