Job Description:
An Area Sales Manager (ASM) drives revenue growth and market expansion within a specific geographic region. They act as the bridge between corporate strategy and on-the-ground execution by setting regional targets, managing a team of sales representatives, analyzing market trends, and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement actionable sales plans to achieve or exceed designated revenue targets and KPIs.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of field sales representatives and officers.
- Territory Management: Continuously analyze regional market trends, identify new business opportunities, and monitor competitor activities to increase market share.
- Customer Relations: Develop and sustain long-term relationships with key accounts, distributors, and strategic partners while addressing escalated customer concerns.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed sales forecasts, maintain CRM data, and report regional performance metrics to senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; MBA is frequently preferred.
- Experience: Typically 3 to 5+ years of progressive, proven sales experience, including 1-2 years in a team leadership or supervisory role.
- Key Skills: Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), strong numerical ability, and strong team leadership.
