US Bookkeeper – E-commerce & Not-for-Profit Accounting

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for US-based E-commerce and Not-for-Profit clients. • Perform bank, credit card, PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, and merchant account reconciliations. • Record and reconcile sales transactions from E-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and WooCommerce. • Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Maintain General Ledger and prepare month-end and year-end closing entries. • Prepare financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports. • Handle payroll entries, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments. • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for NFP organizations. • Track grants, donor contributions, restricted and unrestricted funds for Not-for-Profit entities. • Ensure accurate classification of expenses and fund accounting transactions. • Support tax preparers and CPAs by providing organized financial records and reconciliations. • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with US accounting practices. Technical Requirements: • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and bookkeeping principles. • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (Mandatory). • Experience with Xero and NetSuite will be an added advantage. • Proficiency in E-commerce accounting tools such as A2X, Synder, Webgility, or similar platforms. • Experience working with Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, PayPal, Stripe, and other payment gateways. Understanding sales tax reconciliations and E-commerce transaction flows. • Experience in Not-for-Profit accounting, fund accounting, donor reporting, and grant tracking. • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial reporting. • Ability to independently manage multiple client accounts with minimal supervision. Preferred Candidate Profile: • Minimum 2 years of experience in US bookkeeping. • Proven experience handling E-commerce and Not-for-Profit clients. • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact directly with US clients. • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
