Job Description:
Core Shop
- Supervise daily core-making activities to meet production schedules.
- Ensure correct core dimensions, strength, curing, and storage practices.
- Monitor core quality and reduce core-related defects.
- Ensure proper usage and consumption of sand, resin, catalyst, and other consumables.
- Coordinate with the moulding department to ensure timely availability of cores.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the core shop.
Production & Operations
- Allocate manpower efficiently across shifts.
- Ensure daily production targets are achieved.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, and shift planning.
- Monitor equipment utilization and report maintenance requirements.
- Reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
Quality
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Identify recurring defects and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with Quality and Production teams to improve First Pass Yield.
- Maintain rejection and rework records.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Enforce PPE compliance and safe work practices.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles.
- Report unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily production reports.
- Track rejection, rework, and productivity data.
- Maintain core consumption and fettling performance records.
- Report manpower utilization and operational issues to management.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of sand casting processes.
- Understanding of core-making techniques and consumables.
- Knowledge of fettling equipment and finishing operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Team leadership and manpower management.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, production reporting).
- Strong communication and coordination skills.

- Daily production target achievement
- Core rejection percentage
- Fettling productivity
- Rework percentage
- Customer rejection related to core/fettling defects
- On-time availability of cores
- Housekeeping and safety compliance
- Manpower productivity
- Consumable usage and control
Education: DME - mechanical engineer
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Salary: Negotiable
