Supervisor-QC Mechanical
Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
To supervise the operation of QA/QC functions at project site by implementing the Project Quality Plans
and Procedures in accordance with the Company QC procedures, International standards and specific
contract requirements for each phases of construction activities and acceptance criteria of contract scope
of project.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To lead and supervise the team of Mechanical & welding QC Inspectors for monitoring the on-going
daily construction activities.
2. Reviewing the construction method statements and making comments per project specifications,
procedures & ITPs.
3. Regular site visits for foreseeing the potential deficiencies based on his physical experience to share
with construction crew and guidance to QC Inspectors.
4. Coordination with QC Supervisor Welding for completion for compiling of Welding and NDT records
in Database in preparation to compile the Hydrotest Packages before the commencement of the
Hydrotesting of completed systems. NDT agencies for inspection & testing requirements. Ensuring
the availability of QC Inspector during any operations.
5. Initiating internal Log Book Entries/NCR’s to construction crew for effective implementation of
project quality plan, ITP’s, written procedures, project specifications, IFC drawings etc.
6. Coordination with Clients inspectors for getting the feedback for open log book entries and
preparations of corrective actions to close those violations.
7. Emphasizing on the control of documents and records by advising the document controllers, QC
Inspectors.
8. Provides assistance to the Project QC Manager in organizing a Quality Control Project Inspection Unit
for Mechanical works activities covering job contractual scope.
9. Maintains a record of job specification and/or acceptance criteria of the items they cover for
inspection.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Has the Supervisory capabilities to handle, motivates and train in full development of QC Mechanical
Inspectors under his Team.
2. Coordinates with Production Units Work Supervisors for the required QC Inspections during the
work process.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 7 years with at least 3 year experience of
those years related to Mechanical and Piping
Inspection
Experienced in Installation of equipments including
but not limited to, pumps, motors, skids, valves,
vessels, compressors, fired heaters, auxiliary
equipment and packaged equipment in plant
construction.
Middle East experience must be considered as
OTHER SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Must have a thorough working knowledge of
codes such as ASME Sect. I, V, VIII, IX and ANSI
B31.3/4/8 and API 620/650 and AWS D1.1 or
equivalent standards.
Must be competent with piping systems and pipe
line, hot tap procedures, hot/cold insulation,
vessels, tanks & spheres construction, &
structural steel erection.
Conversant with NDT in VT, MT, PT, RT, or UT.

ACADEMIC EDUCATION:
Graduate Bachelor of Mechanical
Engineering or
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
CERTIFICATIONS:
CBT
LICENSES:
Additional certification in NDT e.g. ASNT
Level II etc. shall be preferred
TRAININGS:
ISO 9001 Training
WORK CONDITIONS:
Can work with less supervision and under pressure.
