MILLING MACHINE OPERATOR FOR STEEL COMPANY - BHILAI - CHHATTISGARH

• Machine Setup: Study blueprints, technical drawings, or CAD designs to determine the machining operations needed, and set up the machine with appropriate cutting tools and parameters. 

• Operation & Monitoring: Load raw materials, secure workpieces, and regulate machining controls like feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cuts. 

• Quality Control: Continuously monitor the cutting process and inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers to ensure zero defects. 

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating the machine, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to prevent downtime. 

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all industrial safety regulations, maintain a clean workspace, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 

• Education: High school diploma or GED; vocational training, ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification, or a Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering is highly preferred.

• Experience: Typically 1 to 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment. 

• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of shop math, metallurgy, and blueprint reading. For CNC positions, basic programming skills may be required. 

• Physical Demands: Physical stamina to stand for long shifts, perform repetitive motions, and regularly lift and move heavy workpieces (up to 50 lbs.).
