Job Description:
A Machine Operator sets up, runs, and monitors production equipment to manufacture goods efficiently. Core responsibilities include inspecting raw materials, calibrating machines, maintaining logs, troubleshooting minor errors, and conducting routine maintenance, all while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. 
Job Brief
We are seeking a reliable Machine Operator to set up, maintain, and operate manufacturing machinery. You will ensure that production lines run efficiently and safely, maximizing output while minimizing downtime. A successful operator is highly detail-oriented, comfortable reading technical schematics, and adept at using precision measurement tools. 
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and set up machines (e.g., calibrate, clean) prior to starting a production cycle.
  • Feed raw materials or parts into semi-automated or automated machinery.
  • Monitor machine operations throughout the shift to ensure optimal performance and output quality.
  • Inspect finished parts and workpieces for defects using measurement tools like vernier calipers and micrometers.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment to prevent mechanical failures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions, reporting complex issues to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs, documenting approved and defective units, down-time, and production metrics.
  • Ensure the work environment is clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety guidelines. 
Requirements & Skills
  • Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, rulers).
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical stamina and strength to operate heavy machinery and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills for evaluating efficiency and data entry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an ITI or technical certification is a plus.
