Job Description:
An Electrician for oil extraction (whether mechanical oil seed processing or petroleum extraction) installs, maintains, and repairs heavy electrical, automation, and power distribution systems. They ensure safe, continuous operations in demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Handle preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on industrial electrical and control systems.
- Equipment Care: Troubleshoot heavy machinery like motors, pumps, compressors, screw press expellers, and filter presses.
- System Monitoring: Oversee power distribution panels, wiring, and switchgear components.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous area regulations.
- Automation Support: Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated control circuits.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma plus an electrical trade certification, diploma, or relevant apprenticeship.
- Experience: Proven industrial electrical experience, preferably within oil extraction, food processing, or oil and gas sectors.
- Technical Proficiencies: Ability to read complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and use advanced diagnostic testing tools.
- Safety Knowledge: Strong familiarity with industrial safety standards, high-voltage systems, and hazard prevention.
