Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Analysis: Develop safe structural systems, including beams, columns, and foundations.
- Load Calculations: Compute pressures, weight limits, and stress responses against weather and usage.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate, high-quality construction materials based on project needs.
- Site Inspections: Visit active construction sites to monitor contractor work and verify safety.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all plans match local building codes and legal safety rules.
- Education: Degree in Structural Engineering or a related civil field.
- Software Knowledge: Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla Structures.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong math and problem-solving skills for complex stress testing.
- Communication: Ability to coordinate effectively with builders, contractors, and architect
