Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and technically skilled CNC VMC Supervisor to manage day-to-day machine shop operations. The candidate will be responsible for supervising CNC/VMC machine operators, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth and efficient machine shop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of CNC and VMC machines in the machine shop.
- Allocate jobs and manpower as per production requirements.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.
- Ensure machines are operated as per approved process and work instructions.
- Monitor machine setup, tool setting, offsets, and job changeovers.
- Coordinate with CNC/VMC operators and ensure proper work allocation.
- Check first-piece inspection and coordinate with the Quality Department.
- Monitor dimensional accuracy and ensure production as per drawing and specifications.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, GD&T, and measurement instruments.
- Coordinate with the Tool Room, Maintenance, Quality, and Production departments.
- Monitor tool life and arrange for tool replacement when required.
- Identify and report machine breakdowns and production issues to the concerned department.
- Minimize machine downtime, rejection, and rework.
- Maintain proper production records and shift reports.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S practices in the machine shop.
- Follow all company safety rules and ensure safe working practices on the shop floor.
- Manage shift operations and handover information to the next shift.
- Guide and train operators to improve productivity and quality.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of CNC and VMC machine operations.
- Knowledge of machine setup, tool setting, offsets, and job changeover.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, etc.
- Basic knowledge of CNC/VMC programming and editing will be an advantage.
- Good manpower handling and leadership skills.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a 12-hour duty/shift system.
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or relevant technical qualification.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in CNC/VMC machine shop operations or supervision.
Preferred Candidate
- Candidates having experience in a machine shop / precision engineering / manufacturing company will be preferred.
- Experience in handling CNC/VMC operators and shop-floor production activities will be an added advantage.
- Immediate Joiners / Short Notice Period candidates preferred.
