Job Description – Jr. Account Executive

Position: Jr. Account Executive
Department: Accounts & Finance

Job Summary

The Jr. Account Executive will support day-to-day accounting and financial activities of the jewellery retail showroom, including sales and purchase entries, cash and bank transactions, invoice management, reconciliation, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Entries

  • Record daily sales, purchase, cash, bank, expense, and journal entries.

  • Maintain customer and supplier ledgers accurately.

  • Prepare and verify sales invoices, purchase bills, credit/debit notes, and payment records.

  • Assist in maintaining jewellery stock-related accounting records.

Cash & Bank

  • Maintain daily cash book and petty cash records.

  • Assist with daily cash collection and deposit reconciliation.

  • Record bank transactions and perform regular bank reconciliation.

  • Verify payment receipts, UPI, card, cheque, and other digital transactions.

GST & Compliance Support

  • Assist in GST-related data preparation and reconciliation.

  • Maintain proper documentation for GST invoices and input tax credit.

  • Coordinate with senior accounts staff/CA for statutory compliance requirements.

Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Reconcile customer, supplier, cash, bank, and payment gateway accounts.

  • Identify discrepancies and report them to the Accounts Manager.

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting reports.

  • Maintain proper filing of bills, vouchers, invoices, and financial documents.

Jewellery Retail-Specific Duties

  • Coordinate with the sales and showroom team for billing and payment-related issues.

  • Verify jewellery invoices against sales transactions.

  • Assist in reconciliation of sales, returns, exchanges, discounts, and advance payments.

  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and financial information.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate in B.Com / M.Com / Accounting or a related field.

  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting; jewellery/retail experience will be preferred.

  • Good knowledge of Tally Prime / accounting software and MS Excel.

  • Basic understanding of GST, TDS, invoicing, and bank reconciliation.

  • Good numerical and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work within deadlines.

Preferred Candidate

A disciplined and detail-oriented candidate who can independently handle routine accounting entries while coordinating effectively with the showroom, sales, banking, and senior accounts teams.

Salary: As per experience and suitability.
