Job Description:

Role Summary :

The Cost Accountant/Costing Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining cost accounting systems, analyzing manufacturing costs, and preparing detailed MIS reports to enhance operational profitability. This role requires working with cross-functional teams to track end-to-end production data—from raw material sourcing to finished goods—conducting variance analysis, and preparing budgets/forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Costing & Product Analysis (Textile Focus)

  • Order-wise Costing: Prepare pre-costing and post-costing sheets for textile orders to determine product profitability.
  • Standard Costing: Establish and update standard costs for raw materials (yarn, fabric, accessories) and labor rates
  • User experience in SAP CO Module
  • Variance Analysis: Compare actual production costs against standard/budgeted costs, analyzing variances in material usage, labor efficiency, and overheads.
  • Inventory Control: Perform monthly stock valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. Conduct physical stock verification.

2. MIS Reporting (Management Information System)

  • Production Monitoring: Prepare and present daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports on key metrics (e.g., machine utilization, fabric wastage, production efficiency).
  • Profitability Reporting: Submit weekly/monthly job/order-wise profit margins to management.
  • Dashboard Creation: Use ERP systems (SAP) and Excel to create automated, user-friendly reports to highlight areas of waste or cost overrun

3. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Budget Deployment: Assist in creating annual budgets and cost forecasts for each department, including direct material and overhead costs.
  • Cost Control Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost reduction (e.g., reducing material wastage) and provide recommendations to enhance gross margins.
  • Process Improvement: Review production processes to improve efficiencies and reduce unit costs.

4. Compliance & Audit

  • Cost Audit: Prepare data and supporting documentation for cost audits and statutory audits.
  • Compliance: Ensure accurate classification of expenses according to GAAP and company policy.

Qualification

• Education: b.com with ICWA (CMA) Inter or Final preferred.
• Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry, specifically textiles/garments.
• Technical Skills: Strong Proficiency in SAP (CO module) . Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables) are crucial.
