Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle electrical maintenance of foundry production equipment including melting furnaces, induction furnaces, molding machines, core-making machines, shot blasting machines, fettling equipment and material-handling systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot HT/LT electrical systems, MCC, PCC, control panels, motors, starters, contactors, relays and transformers.
  • Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD/AC drives, servo systems, sensors, encoders and automation-related electrical issues.
  • Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance as per the maintenance schedule.
  • Attend electrical breakdowns and ensure minimum machine downtime and quick restoration of production.
  • Maintain electrical systems of induction furnaces, furnace control systems, cooling-water systems, compressors, pumps, blowers and other foundry utilities.
  • Monitor motor health, current/voltage parameters, insulation resistance and electrical loading.
  • Identify recurring breakdowns through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Maintain critical electrical spares and coordinate with stores/purchase for availability of essential components.
  • Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, PM checklists, MTBF and MTTR data.
  • Support TPM, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke and continuous improvement activities for reduction of breakdowns and maintenance cost.
  • Ensure proper earthing, electrical protection, interlocking and safety systems.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, LOTO and plant safety standards.
  • Coordinate with Production, Mechanical Maintenance, Quality and Utility teams for smooth plant operations.
  • Support installation, commissioning and modification of new electrical equipment and automation systems.
  • Guide technicians and electricians during breakdown and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with 5S, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
