A Production Incharge oversees daily manufacturing operations on the shop floor. They manage shift schedules, monitor output efficiency, enforce safety rules, and ensure products meet quality standards. This role bridges the gap between workers and plant management to hit targets on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan Operations: Set daily and weekly shift schedules to meet output goals.
- Supervise Staff: Assign tasks, track worker performance, and arrange training.
- Control Quality: Check finished goods to reduce defects and waste.
- Maintain Safety: Enforce workplace safety rules and proper gear use.
- Manage Equipment: Track machine performance and report repair needs quickly.
- Report Progress: Log output numbers, downtime, and labor hours for managers.
Requirements and Skills
- Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or production engineering.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years working in a factory or plant setting.
- Skills: Strong leadership, basic computer literacy, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with safety laws, quality checks, and lean manufacturing.
