Job Description:

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Foundry Manufacturing Lead / Manager to
oversee and drive end-to-end foundry operations.
Key Details
 Role Title: Foundry Manufacturing Lead / Assistant Manager
 Location – Seerampore
 Department: Production / Foundry Operations
 Total Experience Required: 5 Years (Must have core experience in heavy steel/iron
foundry manufacturing)
 Special Domain Experience: Foundry operations handling bogie frame / bogie
component casting
 Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
1. Core Foundry & Production Management
 Oversee end-to-end foundry operations, including Sand Plant, Pattern Shop, Core
Shop, Molding Line, Melting, Pouring, Fettling, and Heat Treatment.
 Manage day-to-day production planning, scheduling, and shop-floor execution to meet
daily/monthly output targets.
 Drive raw material planning, furnace charge mix optimization, and liquid metal
processing.
2. Technical & Process Control (Bogie Manufacturing)
 Ensure strict adherence to technical standards for heavy steel/iron casting used in bogies.
 Monitor parameters for induction/arc furnace melting, metallurgy, spectrometry analysis,
and ladle treatment.
 Supervise molding sand preparation, sand testing, core making, and gating/risering
system implementation to minimize casting defects.
3. Quality Assurance & Defect Reduction
 Implement rigorous process controls to reduce rejection rates (e.g., shrinkage, blowholes,
inclusion, cracks).

 Coordinate with the Quality Control team for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT),
dimensional checks, and material testing (Tensile, Impact, Hardness).
 Manage correct post-casting heat treatment cycles (Normalizing, Quenching, Tempering)
required for bogie structural integrity.
4. Shop-Floor Maintenance & Safety
 Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance of
foundry equipment (Furnaces, Sand Plants, Overhead Cranes, Shot Blasting machines).
 Enforce safety protocols, proper PPE usage, and high standards of 5S/housekeeping
across the foundry floor.
5. Manpower & Team Leadership
 Lead, supervise, and assign shifts to operators, supervisors, and contract laboures.
 Train shop-floor technicians on best foundry practices, defect analysis, and safety.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
 Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Foundry Technology, Metallurgical
Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
 Experience: Exactly 5 years of hands-on experience in a heavy engineering foundry
environment.
 Mandatory Skillset:
o Direct experience in heavy steel/cast iron casting (preferably Bogies, Side
Frames, Bolsters, or heavy industrial structures).
o Deep understanding of melting shop operations, molding methods (No-
Bake/CO2/Green Sand), and fettling.
o Strong knowledge of heat treatment processes for heavy structural castings.
o Proven leadership skills to manage shop-floor labor
