Position Details

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Management Representative (MR) – Quality for a Gravity Die Casting manufacturing plant at Waluj. The MR will be responsible for establishing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring compliance with applicable ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality standards.

The candidate will act as a key link between top management, quality, production, foundry operations, and other functional departments to ensure effective implementation of the QMS across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. QMS Management & Compliance

  • Establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 and applicable customer-specific requirements.
  • Monitor QMS procedures, work instructions, quality manuals, formats, and records.
  • Ensure effective implementation of quality policies and objectives throughout the plant.
  • Identify gaps in the QMS and initiate corrective and preventive actions.

2. Gravity Die Casting Process Quality

  • Monitor quality systems related to gravity die casting, melting, pouring, mould preparation, fettling, trimming, machining, and inspection.
  • Coordinate with Production and Process Engineering teams to control process variations.
  • Ensure implementation of process control plans, inspection standards, PFMEA, work instructions, and quality check sheets.
  • Monitor defects such as porosity, blow holes, shrinkage, cold shuts, inclusions, dimensional variation, and surface defects.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for recurring defects.

3. Internal & External Audits

  • Plan and coordinate internal QMS audits.
  • Coordinate customer audits, certification audits, surveillance audits, and special process audits.
  • Act as the primary contact for auditors during QMS and customer audits.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit non-conformities and observations.
  • Track audit findings and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.

4. Management Review & Reporting

  • Prepare and present Management Review Meeting (MRM) inputs and reports.
  • Report the performance and effectiveness of the QMS directly to top management.
  • Monitor quality KPIs such as:
    • Internal rejection
    • Customer rejection
    • PPM
    • COPQ
    • Rework and rejection cost
    • Customer complaints
    • Audit performance
    • Corrective action closure
  • Highlight major quality risks and improvement opportunities to management.

5. Customer Quality & Complaints

  • Coordinate with the Quality and Customer Quality teams for customer complaints.
  • Ensure timely implementation of 8D / CAPA / RCA for customer complaints.
  • Monitor customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Ensure effective communication of customer complaints and corrective actions to concerned departments.

6. Continual Improvement

  • Drive continual improvement initiatives across the plant.
  • Promote PDCA, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce rejection, rework, customer complaints, and quality-related costs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of improvement actions.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 QMS requirements.
  • Good understanding of Gravity Die Casting processes and foundry operations.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP, 8D, CAPA and RCA.
  • Strong knowledge of quality documentation and audit procedures.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Purchase, Stores, and Top Management.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and quality documentation systems.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, Quality, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in Quality / QMS, preferably in Gravity Die Casting, Aluminium Casting, Auto Components, or Foundry manufacturing.
  • Experience in handling ISO/IATF audits and customer audits will be preferred.
  • Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 will be an added advantage.
