Job Description:
A Cutter Plant Manager oversees daily cutting, fabrication, and manufacturing operations, ensuring production quotas, safety rules, and quality standards are met efficiently. The role manages shop floor staff, tracks raw material inventory, and coordinates equipment maintenance to minimize costly operational downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning: Schedule daily and weekly cutting and manufacturing targets based on customer orders.
- Machine Operations: Supervise cutting, slitting, or panel-processing equipment to optimize output and reduce waste.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished cuts and materials for dimensional accuracy and surface defects.
- Staff Management: Assign shift duties, train machine operators, and enforce workplace safety protocols.
- Maintenance Coordination: Schedule preventative equipment servicing and handle rapid breakdown responses.
- Cost & Waste Control: Track material usage to minimize scrap rates and manage operational budgets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production, or Industrial Technology.
- Experience: 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment, ideally with direct shop-floor supervisory experience.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of cutting and processing machinery, basic inventory software or ERP tools, and leadership abilities.
