Senior Software Engineer

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design and development of soft-real-time web-based applications and platforms.
• Define application architecture, technology choices, coding standards, and development practices.
• Design and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable frontend and backend systems.
• Lead database design, data modeling, query optimization, and integration with application services.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, performance, and architectural standards.
• Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and scalability issues and drive their resolution.
• Guide developers through technical challenges and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Break down requirements into technical tasks and provide effort and implementation estimates.
• Troubleshoot production issues and lead root-cause analysis for critical incidents.
• Ensure applications follow appropriate security practices, including authentication, authorization, data protection, and secure API design.
• Evaluate new technologies and frameworks and recommend their adoption when they provide meaningful technical or business benefits.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, API documentation, and development guidelines.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong backend development experience using technologies such as Node.js
• Strong experience in JavaScript and Hands-on expertise in React.js
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and browser fundamentals.
• Knowledge of application security, performance optimization, caching, logging, and monitoring.
• Good understanding of software design principles, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Technical Leadership:

• Make sound technical decisions and communicate their rationale clearly.
• Establish coding and architectural standards across the team.
• Review and improve the technical quality of the codebase.
• Identify opportunities to simplify systems and reduce technical debt.
• Mentor developers and improve the team's technical capabilities.
• Balance short-term delivery requirements with long-term maintainability.
• Take ownership of technically complex features and critical production issues.
• Ensure that technical decisions remain aligned with product and business requirements.
