Artwork & Packaging Designer
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Packaging & Bag Artwork
- Create and modify artworks for compostable bags, pouches, packaging films, cartons, labels and other packaging products.
- Develop print-ready artwork for rotogravure printing cylinder manufacturing.
- Prepare designs according to bag dimensions, printing area, number of colours and machine/printing limitations.
- Work with cylinder manufacturers and printing/production teams for artwork finalization.
- Prepare colour separations, trapping, bleed, registration marks and other pre-press requirements.
- Check artwork technically before releasing files for cylinder engraving.
- Make customer-requested artwork corrections and prepare final approval files.
- Maintain proper versions and records of approved customer artworks.
2. Packaging Development
- Design inner cartons, master cartons, retail boxes, labels, sleeves and other packaging materials.
- Develop packaging concepts for new NaturTrust products.
- Prepare product mock-ups and visual presentations for customer approvals.
- Ensure correct placement of logos, certifications, QR codes, barcodes, product information and mandatory packaging declarations.
3. Marketing & Brand Designs
- Create brochures, catalogues, product specification sheets and presentations.
- Design social media creatives, LinkedIn posts, advertisements and digital marketing materials.
- Develop exhibition graphics, banners, standees, posters and other branding material.
- Support sales team with customer-specific presentations and product visuals.
- Maintain consistency of NaturTrust's branding across all designs.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW and Adobe Photoshop.
- Good understanding of flexible packaging artwork and pre-press processes.
- Knowledge of rotogravure printing and cylinder artwork preparation is highly preferred.
- Understanding of CMYK, Pantone colours, spot colours, colour separation, trapping, bleed and registration.
- Ability to work with vector files such as AI, CDR, EPS and print-ready PDF.
- Understanding of packaging dimensions, dielines and printing limitations.
- Good eye for typography, layout, colour and overall packaging presentation.
- Ability to handle multiple customer artworks and revisions simultaneously.
- Basic understanding of barcode/QR code placement and print requirements.
Preferred Experience
Experience: 2–5 years
Candidates having prior experience with any of the following will be preferred:
- Flexible packaging manufacturers
- Rotogravure printing companies
- Printing cylinder / engraving companies
- Plastic or compostable bag manufacturers
- Pouch and film manufacturers
- Packaging design / pre-press agencies
Education
Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Printing Technology, Packaging Technology or related field.
Relevant industry experience will be given more importance than qualification.
What We Are Looking For
We are specifically looking for someone who is more than a creative graphic designer. The person should understand how an artwork actually gets converted into printing cylinders and finally printed on flexible packaging.
The candidate should be comfortable coordinating with customers, marketing team, production team, printing operators and cylinder manufacturers to take an artwork from initial design to final production.
