Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
To develop, evaluate, and implement innovative and cost-effective packaging solutions for
FMCG / Agro-chemical products, ensuring regulatory compliance, product protection,
sustainability, and improved consumer experience while optimizing costs and supply
chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead development of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging for new products
and improvement projects.
• Conduct packaging material selection (HDPE, PET, PP, multilayer films, laminates,
corrugated boxes, metal tins, glass bottles, closures, labels, shrink sleeves, etc.).
• Design and validate packaging structures considering product compatibility,
functionality, performance, safety, and stability.
• Conduct packaging testing: drop test, compression test, seal strength, bursting
strength, transport trial, compatibility testing, UN certification (for Agro-chemicals),
leak resistance, etc.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (FSSAI, BIS, CPCB, FAO/WHO
guidelines, packaging waste rules, GHS/UN standards for hazardous goods).
• Work closely with Marketing, Purchase, QA/QC, Production, Supply Chain, and
Vendors for timelines and new launches.
• Develop and approve packaging artwork, coordinate with design agencies for
labelling, legal declarations, and branding.
• Support sustainability initiatives through downgauging, material optimization,
recyclability, and eco-friendly packaging.
• Manage and qualify new vendors; evaluate supplier capability and negotiate
packaging costs with procurement.
• Troubleshoot production and market complaints related to packaging quality and
defects.
• Prepare packaging specifications, BOMs, SOPs, testing protocols, and
documentation.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong technical knowledge of packaging materials and manufacturing processes
(Injection molding, Blow molding, Labeling, Extrusion, Thermoforming, Printing).
• Knowledge of FMCG / agro-chemical packaging regulatory standards.
• Hands-on experience in packaging trials and test methods.

• On-time new product launches.
