Job Description:

The Purchase Manager will head the procurement department to source raw materials, electronic components, machinery, and consumables. This role requires minimizing costs, improving supplier performance, ensuring strict inventory control, and aligning both domestic and import supply chains with active PCB production schedules.  

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
  • Identify and onboard reliable global and domestic vendors for copper-clad laminates, chemicals, dry films, and electronic components.
  • Negotiate high-value contracts, payment terms, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) to drive maximum cost savings.
  • Evaluate vendor performance regularly based on quality, delivery lead times, and price competitiveness.
  1. Import & Customs Operations
  • Oversee import documentation, customs clearances, and tracking with Custom House Agents (CHAs) and freight forwarders.
  • Ensure full compliance with ICEGATE processes, file Bills of Entry, and handle advanced license schemes for duty-free imports.
  • Manage foreign exchange documentation and handle international trade compliance for air and ocean freight.  
  1. Material Planning & Inventory Control
  • Partner with Production Planning (PPC) to accurately forecast raw material requirements based on the manufacturing pipeline.
  • Optimize stock levels to prevent inventory stockouts while avoiding working capital blockages.
  • Monitor daily material movement in coordination with the Stores and Warehouse teams
  1. Cost Control & Reporting
  • Review daily commercial quote comparisons (RFQs) and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Analyze purchase market trends to anticipate pricing spikes in metals, laminates, and core commodities.
  • Prepare Daily Status Reports (DSR), budget variance summaries, and presentations for management.  

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech (Electronics / Mechanical / Production) or a Graduate Degree paired with a Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Management / Supply Chain.  
  • Industry Domain: Heavy background in PCB manufacturing, EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services), or allied automotive component industries.
  • Technical Software: Deep proficiency with ERP frameworks (SAP/Oracle), custom procurement software, Focus software, and ICEGATE.  
  • Soft Skills: Direct, sharp negotiation skills, strong leadership capability, and analytical problem-solving skills.
