An Electrician / AC Mechanic (also known as an HVAC and Electrical Technician) installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, power equipment, and cooling or heating systems in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Maintenance: Troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical panels, wiring, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers using multimeters and voltmeters.
- AC and HVAC Service: Install, clean, and service air conditioning units, chillers, compressors, and ventilation systems.
- Diagnostics: Identify electrical and mechanical faults, check refrigerant levels, and perform preventive maintenance to avoid equipment downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Follow local electrical codes, use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain clean work areas.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), or a related technical field.
- Experience: 1 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting and AC repair.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, physical stamina to lift heavy equipment, and the ability to read technical blueprints and wiring diagrams.
