Job Description:

Job Summary

The Billing Engineer is responsible for preparing, verifying, and managing contractor and client bills, ensuring accurate quantity measurements, maintaining project billing records, and coordinating with project, procurement, accounts, and contracts teams for timely payments. The role requires strong knowledge of BOQs, rate analysis, quantity estimation, and billing procedures to ensure financial accuracy and project compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and verify contractor RA Bills, final bills, and client bills.
  • Measure executed work as per approved drawings and BOQ.
  • Prepare quantity calculations and quantity reconciliation statements.
  • Verify work executed at site before processing bills.
  • Coordinate with Site Engineers and Project Managers for work certifications.
  • Prepare and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and rate analysis.
  • Track work progress against approved BOQ and contract values.
  • Ensure accurate billing as per work orders, contracts, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Department for timely bill processing and payments.
  • Maintain billing records, measurement sheets, and supporting documents.
  • Prepare variation statements and additional work claims.
  • Monitor subcontractor billing and payment status.
  • Assist in cost control and budget monitoring.
  • Prepare monthly billing MIS and project cost reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and statutory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity estimation.
  • Experience in RA Bills, Final Bills, and Contractor Billing.
  • Understanding of civil construction methods and project execution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for quantity verification (preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, MIS).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and billing software.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with high accuracy in calculations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • 3–6 years of experience in billing for residential/commercial real estate projects.
