Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bagasse Specialist to optimize the sourcing, processing, and conversion of sugarcane bagasse into value-added products. In this role, you will oversee quality control, improve production efficiency, and implement sustainable technologies to maximize the utility of bagasse for biofuel, power generation, pulp and paper, or biodegradable packaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Optimization: Streamline raw bagasse drying, depithing, and storage processes to prevent degradation and spontaneous combustion.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor moisture content, fiber length, and ash composition to meet strict industry standards.
- Product Development: Develop and refine methods for converting bagasse into pellets, briquettes, bio-ethanol, molded fiber tableware, or paper pulp.
- Supply Chain Management: Coordinate with sugar mills for consistent biomass sourcing and manage inventory seasonal variations.
- Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure all processing methods align with environmental regulations and carbon emission standards.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomass Engineering, Agricultural Science, or Paper Technology.
- Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in sugarcane processing, biomass energy plants, or pulp and paper industries.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of bagasse gasification, anaerobic digestion, or thermo-mechanical pulping processes.
