Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Purchase to lead procurement activities for our project and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in procurement, vendor management, commercial negotiations, and supply chain coordination within engineering, manufacturing, EPC, or project-based organizations. The role requires expertise in SAP, procurement planning, and close coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure timely material availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for project execution and factory operations.
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize suppliers for raw materials, equipment, services, and project requirements.
- Float RFQs, analyze quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize vendors based on commercial and technical evaluations.
- Issue Purchase Orders and monitor order execution, delivery schedules, and vendor commitments.
- Coordinate with Stores, Factory, Project Teams, Vendors, Accounts, and Logistics to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
- Maintain procurement records, purchase documentation, and MIS reports through SAP (MM Module preferred).
- Handle commercial aspects of procurement, including pricing, payment terms, contracts, and supplier negotiations.
- Coordinate with banks and finance teams for Letters of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees (BG), and other trade finance instruments.
- Monitor vendor performance and develop long-term supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Support procurement planning, budgeting, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Resolve procurement-related issues and ensure timely closure of purchase transactions.
Skills Required:-
- Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain management.
- Hands-on experience with SAP MM (Materials Management Module).
- Expertise in Purchase Orders, vendor development, procurement planning, and inventory coordination.
- Sound knowledge of commercial documentation, including Letters of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees (BG), contracts, and payment terms.
- Strong vendor negotiation and cost optimization skills.
- Good understanding of material planning and project procurement.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, procurement MIS, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
