Job Description:

Position:       Procurement Head

Location:       Vapi

Experience:   20 - 26 Years

Industries:     Engineering

Responsibilities:  

  • Regional Purchasing Strategy
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with global business objectives, growth plans, and cost benchmarks.
  • Translate category strategies into executable roadmaps while ensuring alignment with global corporate governance.
  • Lead procurement support for New Product Introduction (NPI) and platform products across regions.
  • Category & Commodity Management
  • Oversee sourcing of direct materials such as sheet metal, plastics, electronics, motors, wiring harnesses, and critical bought-out components.
  • Ensure harmonization of specifications, supplier platforms, and sourcing synergies.
  • Drive global leverage while balancing regional localization requirements.
  • Cost Leadership & Value Engineering
  • Deliver YOY cost reduction targets through strategic sourcing, should-cost modelling, VA/VE, and driving design-to-cost initiatives.
  • Actively manage exposure to raw material, FX, and logistics volatility in coordination with global teams.
  • Build robust cost transparency and benchmarking mechanisms.
  • Supplier Management & Risk Mitigation
  • Build and manage a resilient global supplier ecosystem ensuring quality, capacity, compliance, and business continuity.
  • Lead supplier development programs in emerging and low-cost countries.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate geopolitical, supply chain, and operational risks.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with global category leaders, regional procurement heads, manufacturing plants, engineering centres, and finance teams.
  • Represent regional procurement interests in global governance forums and decision bodies.
  • Influence without direct authority on other departments for better decisions
  • Compliance, Ethics & ESG
  • Ensure adherence to global procurement policies, ethical standards, trade compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive ESG goals including responsible sourcing, supplier audits, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Support reporting and audits as required.
  • Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop teams.
  • Build succession plans and strengthen functional capabilities.
  • Foster a performance-driven, inclusive, and continuous-improvement culture.

Required Skills:

  • Sourcing and category management expertise
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and contract management capabilities
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing economics and supply chains
  • Ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and cross-cultural environments • Strong leadership presence and stakeholder influence
  • Data-driven decision-making.

Required Qualification: - Diploma/B.E/B.Tech - Mechanical/Electrical

Salary: -  Upto 35.00 LPA
