 2.  Job Purpose

To lead the Production Planning & Control function and ensure effective planning, scheduling and monitoring of production activities to achieve customer delivery commitments, optimum capacity utilization, efficient manpower and material utilization, and minimum production delays and inventory.

 3.  Key Responsibilities

A.  Production Planning

• Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans based on customer orders and business requirements.
• Develop production schedules considering machine capacity, manpower, materials and delivery priorities.
• Convert sales/customer requirements into realistic production
• Ensure production plans are aligned with dispatch and customer delivery
• Monitor adherence to production plans and take corrective

 B.  Material Planning

• Coordinate with Purchase and Stores to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components and consumables.
• Identify material shortages and communicate critical requirements to concerned
• Monitor material availability against production
• Support effective inventory planning and
• Coordinate for alternate materials/sources wherever

 C.  Capacity Planning

• Analyze machine, manpower and production-line
• Identify capacity constraints and
• Plan overtime, additional shifts or subcontracting where

• Optimize utilization of machines, manpower and other
• Coordinate with Production and Maintenance for machine

 D.  Production Monitoring & Control

• Monitor daily production against planned
• Track production achievement, pending orders and
• Identify bottlenecks and coordinate corrective
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production performance
• Escalate major delays and capacity constraints to

E.  Customer Delivery Management

• Ensure production plans support committed customer delivery
• Coordinate with Sales, Dispatch and Production for priority
• Monitor order status from planning through production
• Highlight risks to delivery schedules and develop recovery

 F.  ERP & MIS

• Maintain production planning and control data in ERP/MRP
• Ensure accurate BOM, routing, production orders and planning
• Prepare MIS reports related to production plans, achievement, pending orders and capacity utilization.
• Analyze production data and provide management with actionable

G.  Coordination

• Coordinate closely with:
  • Sales & Marketing
  • Purchase
  • Stores
  • Production
  • Quality
  • Maintenance
  • Dispatch
  • Finance
• Conduct regular planning meetings to review order status, material availability and production priorities.

H.  Inventory & WIP Control

• Monitor raw material, WIP and finished-goods
• Control excess and obsolete
• Ensure proper movement of materials through various production
• Identify and reduce production-related WIP
• Support inventory reduction and working-capital improvement

 I.  Process Improvement

• Identify bottlenecks and improve production planning
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Reduce production downtime, waiting time and unnecessary
• Improve planning accuracy and schedule
• Develop systems for effective production tracking and

J.  Team Management

• Lead and supervise the PPC
• Allocate responsibilities and monitor team
• Train team members on planning systems, ERP/MRP and production-control
• Set departmental objectives and
• Conduct performance reviews and support employee

5.  Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Production, Operations, or related
• MBA/PGDM in Operations, or Production Management is

6.  Experience

• Preferred Experience: 8–15 years in PPC / Production Planning /
• Experience in electrical, engineering or manufacturing industries is
• Strong experience with ERP/MRP-based planning systems is

7.  Required Skills
