Job Description:

Position: Accounts Executive – Plant Finance

Location

Plant Location: Unnao (UP)

Reporting To

Finance Controller / Plant Finance Manager

Purpose of the Role

The Accounts Executive will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities at the plant level, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, accounting entries, monthly provisions, inventory and fixed asset controls, and providing financial support to plant operations. The role requires a proactive and self-driven professional who can work independently with limited supervision while ensuring high standards of financial compliance and process discipline.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accounts Payable & Invoice Processing
  • Verification, scrutiny, and processing of vendor invoices.
  • Ensure proper bill passing as per company policies and approval matrix.
  • Timely booking of supplier invoices in SAP.
  • Reconciliation of vendor accounts and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Coordination with procurement, stores, and user departments for invoice approvals.
  1. General Accounting & Month-End Closing
  • Pass routine accounting entries accurately in SAP.
  • Preparation and posting of monthly provision entries for expenses.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Preparation of schedules and supporting documents for audits.
  1. Inventory Control & Verification
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory verification.
  • Reconcile physical stock with system records and investigate variances.
  • Coordinate with stores and production teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support inventory valuation and reporting processes.
  • Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  1. Fixed Asset Management
  • Perform periodic physical verification of fixed assets.
  • Track asset capitalization, transfers, disposals, and retirements.
  • Support depreciation accounting and asset audits.
  • Ensure proper asset tagging and control procedures.
  1. Plant Finance Support
  • Provide business and finance support to plant operations.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, maintenance, and stores teams.
  • Assist in cost tracking, expense monitoring, and budget adherence.
  • Support management reporting and analysis as required.
  • Facilitate internal and external audit requirements.
  1. Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities in accounting and finance operations.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for all transactions.
  • Support implementation of finance control initiatives at the plant.

 

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) mandatory.
  • MBA (Finance), M.Com, CA Inter, CMA Inter, or equivalent qualification preferred.

Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in accounting and plant finance.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Hands-on exposure to inventory accounting and fixed asset management is essential.
  • Experience in month-end closure and accounts payable processes.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SAP (FI/MM modules preferred).
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Experience in invoice processing, provisions, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis).
