Job Description:

Job Overview & Responsibilities

A Purchase Coordinator in a steel plant manages the smooth flow of raw materials, heavy engineering spares, machinery parts, and consumables required for uninterrupted plant operations.

• Procurement Execution: Processing purchase requisitions (PRs), issuing purchase orders (POs), and tracking orders for raw materials (e.g., scrap, coal, iron ore, ferroalloys) and plant maintenance spares.

• Vendor Management: Evaluating, negotiating, and coordinating with suppliers and contractors to secure cost-effective pricing and timely delivery.

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Working closely with the production, store/inventory, finance, and logistics departments to align material availability with operational needs.

• Documentation & Compliance: Maintaining accurate procurement records, processing vendor invoices, handling dispatch documents, and generating regular Management Information System (MIS) reports
