Manager – Research & Development

Job Description:

Responsible for end-to-end research, design, development, testing, and industrialization of high-voltage power transformer bushings. The role focuses on aligning products with market needs, global standards, cost targets, manufacturing capability, and customer requirements while leading cross-functional and external stakeholder engagement.

Process:

 New Product Development & Prepare BOMs, prototypes, and cost
assessments; achieve raw material cost targets
 Drive cost optimization through design changes, value engineering, and
alternate material sourcing
 Support procurement and vendor development for cost-effective sourcing
 Monitor the Development project from the budget Perspective
 Contribute to reduction in manufacturing and lifecycle costs
 Support production planning for timely execution to avoid cost overruns
 MIS management: Track and present KPIs impacting cost and efficiency

Understand market requirements and competitor products & Other
Requirements prior to Product or product portfolio Development
 Lead the customer Related technical documentation change management
system
 Represent product portfolio to internal and external customers, Go the
market Drive
 Support product launches, technical announcements, and customer query
resolution
 Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for customer complaints and ensure effective
resolution
 Ensure product compliance with customer Requirement throughout the life
cycle (FPY & field performance)
 Participate in national and international technical forums, Technical Papers to
enhance brand positioning
 Timely resolution of Customer query for internal & External.
 Contributions to define the key assets specification & for actitation for
laboratories & Support for new testing facilities.

Lead design and development of new bushing components and variants
 Develop 3D models, drawings, and assemblies (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) with
GD&T compliance
 Perform Multiphysics simulations (electrical, thermal, mechanical, short circuit
– FEM/FEA)
 Interpret and apply IEC, IEEE, BIS, and relevant standards
 Plan and coordinate routine, type, and special tests with internal/external
agencies
 Manage engineering change processes and maintain design records
 Conduct failure analysis for plant, site, and field issues
 Prepare technical documentation (drawings, quality plans, manufacturing
processes)
 Collaborate with production, quality, procurement, and engineering teams
 Ensure timely and effective execution of design changes
 Support supplier capability assessment for design and manufacturing
requirements
 EHS and EMS aspect consideration for product design and overall life cycle
management
 Build and develop the Digitalization initiatives
 Contribute towards technology transfer aspects

Learning & Development:

Build strong expertise in transformer bushing design, applications, and failure
modes (FMEA)
 Enhance knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, BIS) and compliance
requirements
 Develop simulation and advanced engineering capabilities
 Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills
 Gain exposure to type testing, validation, and engineering change
management
 Drive continuous improvement and innovation in product design and
processes
 Develop supplier ecosystem knowledge and technical evaluation skills
 Improve communication, presentation, and stakeholder management
capabilities

Build the Educational videos & Develop technical articles for product for the
customers for other industry stake holders for our offers
 Define and maintain all technical literature, critical documents standards and
customer documents

Desired Experience:

8+ years of experience in simulation/CAE, preferably in transformer or high-
voltage equipment

 Preferred to have Experience in Multiphysics simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS,
COMSOL)
