Design Engineer

Job Description:

DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

• Develop 3D models, GA drawings, fabrication drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
• Design equipment such as: Granulation/Tablet Line, Liquid Syrup Line, Ointment Cream Line, dryers, conveyors etc.
• Modify and improve existing designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability

PROJECT EXECUTION

• Understand client URS (User Requirement Specification) and convert into design.
• Ensure designs meet timeline, budget, and technical feasibility
• Coordinate with:
1. Production
2. QA/QC
3. Purchase

ENGINEERING & CALCULATIONS

• Perform:
1. Load calculations
2. Structural & mechanical design validation
3. Material selection (SS304, SS316L, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with:
1. cGMP
2. ASME / ISO standards

PROTOTYPE & TESTING

• Support trials, FAT, and internal testing
• Resolve design issues during manufacturing and assembly.
• Continuously refine designs based on feedback.

DOCUMENTATION

• Prepare:
1. BOM (Bill of Materials)
2. Design calculations
3. Technical manuals
• Maintain revision control and documentation system

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COORDINATION

• Act as bridge between:
1. Client
2. Production
3. Project team
• Support installation & commissioning if required

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Strong knowledge of mechanical design & fabrication
• CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Understanding of pharma equipment & hygienic design
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes & tolerances.
