JOB DESCRIPTION

MANAGER – FOUNDER’S OFFICE

Office of the Managing Director

xxxxxxx Steels Pvt. lTD

Location: Jalna, Maharashtra
Position: Manager – Founder’s Office
Reporting To: Managing Director
Experience: 2–5 Years
CTC: Approximately ₹10 LPA
Employment Type: Full-time | On-site

2. ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly driven, analytical and execution-oriented Manager – Founder’s Office who can work directly with the Managing Director and senior leadership.

This is not a conventional administrative role.

The person will act as an in-house management consultant, project manager and strategic execution partner to the MD, working on some of the company's most important and sensitive assignments.

You will be expected to:

Understand → Analyse → Structure → Recommend → Execute → Track → Close

You will frequently work on ambiguous problems where there is no predefined job description or ready-made solution.

The right candidate should be comfortable moving from a factory floor to an Excel model, from a customer meeting to a management presentation, and from a strategic discussion to execution follow-up.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. STRATEGY & SPECIALITY STEELS

Support the Managing Director in evaluating and developing the company's entry and expansion into speciality steels.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Prepare detailed project reports and feasibility studies.
  • Conduct market and industry research.
  • Identify attractive speciality-steel segments and applications.
  • Study domestic and international competitors.
  • Analyse product-market opportunities.
  • Evaluate technology and manufacturing alternatives.
  • Study investment requirements and project economics.
  • Develop CAPEX and OPEX estimates.
  • Prepare financial and operational business cases.
  • Analyse potential customers and end-use industries.
  • Identify potential technology partners and suppliers.
  • Prepare management recommendations and decision frameworks.
  • Track strategic projects from concept to implementation.

4. BUSINESS ANALYSIS & VALUE-CHAIN IMPROVEMENT

Develop a deep understanding of the company's complete value chain.

This includes:

Raw Material → Production → Quality → Inventory → Sales → Distribution → Customer → Cash Collection

You will:

  • Collect and analyse operational and commercial data.
  • Map processes end-to-end.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Identify cost leakages and value leakage.
  • Analyse product-wise profitability.
  • Analyse customer-wise profitability.
  • Analyse working-capital requirements.
  • Study inventory movement and ageing.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvement.
  • Benchmark internal performance against industry standards.
  • Convert data into actionable management insights.

The objective is not merely to prepare reports but to answer:

“What is happening, why is it happening, what should we do, and who will do it?”

5. MANAGEMENT REPORTING & DECISION SUPPORT

Prepare high-quality management information for the MD and Directors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Weekly and monthly MIS.
  • Business performance dashboards.
  • Project dashboards.
  • Management presentations.
  • Decision notes.
  • Business cases.
  • Cost-benefit analyses.
  • Scenario analysis.
  • Competitor benchmarking.
  • Market intelligence reports.
  • Exception reports.

Every important presentation should clearly establish:

Issue → Facts → Analysis → Options → Recommendation → Financial Impact → Decision Required → Next Steps

The expectation is that presentations should help management take decisions, not simply present information.

6. PROJECT MANAGEMENT & EXECUTION

Take ownership of critical cross-functional projects assigned by the MD.

For every project:

  • Define objective and scope.
  • Break the project into activities.
  • Establish milestones.
  • Identify owners.
  • Establish timelines.
  • Prepare Gantt charts / project trackers.
  • Identify dependencies.
  • Track progress.
  • Escalate delays.
  • Conduct periodic reviews.
  • Maintain action trackers.
  • Ensure closure of pending actions.

The Manager will be expected to follow through until completion.

A project will not be considered complete merely because a report has been submitted.

7. TECHNOLOGY, PROCESS & AUTOMATION

Identify opportunities to use technology to improve business performance.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Evaluate software and technology solutions.
  • Benchmark technology used by other steel companies.
  • Identify opportunities for automation.
  • Develop management dashboards.
  • Improve data collection systems.
  • Digitise manual processes.
  • Develop simple workflow systems.
  • Use AI tools for research, analysis and productivity.
  • Develop effective AI prompts.
  • Build small no-code / low-code automations where appropriate.
  • Improve information flow between departments.

The objective is to create a culture of:

Data → Insight → Action → Measurement

8. PROCUREMENT, TECHNOLOGY & VENDOR BENCHMARKING

Support management in evaluating suppliers, technologies and critical inputs.

This may include:

  • Global vendor research.
  • Technology benchmarking.
  • Equipment benchmarking.
  • Consumable benchmarking.

  • Technical-commercial comparison.
  • Supplier evaluation.
  • Total-cost-of-ownership analysis.
  • Identification of alternate suppliers.
  • International market research.
  • Preparation of vendor comparison matrices.

Recommendations must be supported by facts, commercial analysis and clearly documented assumptions.

9. CUSTOMER & MARKET INTELLIGENCE

Develop an understanding of customers and the markets in which SRJ operates.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understand customer requirements.
  • Identify emerging customer needs.
  • Analyse competitor offerings.
  • Study pricing and market trends.
  • Identify new customer segments.
  • Research potential speciality-steel applications.
  • Analyse customer profitability.
  • Support management in developing new business opportunities.
  • Prepare customer and market intelligence reports.

Where required, participate in customer meetings alongside senior management.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Drafting letters to government departments.
  • Preparing representations.
  • Preparing briefing notes.
  • Compiling supporting data.
  • Tracking applications and permissions.
  • Maintaining follow-up trackers.
  • Coordinating with consultants and government-facing teams.
  • Preparing meeting briefs for senior management.
