Job Description – Cost Control Manager / Cost Controller Location: Tanzania, East Africa Industry: Steel Manufacturing – Steel Rolling Mill

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cost Control professional for a steel rolling mill in Tanzania. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring manufacturing costs, analyzing production expenses, controlling material consumption, and improving overall cost efficiency across rolling mill operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control manufacturing costs across steel rolling mill operations.

• Prepare and analyze product-wise production cost per MT.

• Monitor raw material consumption, including billets, scrap, and other production inputs.

• Analyze material yield, production losses, wastage, and rejection.

• Monitor electricity, fuel, and other utility costs per MT of production.

• Prepare monthly cost statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.

• Analyze actual costs against standard costs and identify cost deviations.

• Coordinate with Production, Finance, Purchase, and Stores departments for cost optimization.

• Monitor inventory valuation, stock reconciliation, and material movement.

• Analyze manufacturing overheads, labor costs, maintenance expenses, and consumables.

• Develop MIS reports for management review and decision-making.

• Identify opportunities to reduce production costs and improve operational efficiency.

• Support internal and external audits related to costing and inventory.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or relevant field. CA / CMA / ICWA will be an added advantage.

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in Cost Control / Cost Accounting within a manufacturing industry.

• Experience in steel manufacturing, preferably a steel rolling mill, is strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of production costing, material consumption, yield analysis, and cost variance.

• Hands-on experience in calculating manufacturing cost per MT.

• Knowledge of inventory management, budgeting, and cost reporting.

• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP / SAP systems.

• Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills.

• Willingness to relocate to Tanzania.

Compensation: As per experience and company standards.

Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in steel rolling mill costing, production cost per MT, billet consumption, yield loss, and power cost monitoring.
