Engineer / Sr. Engineer – Design & Engineering(Draftsman) Interior Draftsman

Job Description:

3. BRIEF OF JOB SUMMARY (Basic Functions):

Main responsibility is to ensure the Drawing Package or Design Development drawings are done in a proper way, readable on A-3 and as per the agreed design/ detail /specifications approved by Client, Consultant or others prior to site execution or manufacture by factory/suppliers. Create detail drawings, check detailed drawings and complete the necessary drawing set to be reviewed by the Chief Designer/ Head of Design

4. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. The Geometric plan which the Draftsman will be created for any area should be readable and applicable by the construction team and should not forget any measurements from the Gridline.
2. Has a good knowledge of selecting the proper Gridline near to the area will do the shop drawing.
3. Implements Information Schedule after reviewing the drawings, specs, and contract, then issues to the Planning Dept. for action
4. Reviews of all contract drawings with Designers and records the areas with which we can proceed with and those in abeyance.
5. Before starting of the detail shop drawing for any area should be read all related drawing (plan, Elevation, Section, and details) and compare if it's matching with each other or not and when will confuse must inform his Manager.
6. Should use the proper line with the name and select the proper thickness to each line with reference and all the hatch he will select should have reference to it
7. Should build Dictionary and Block for all repeated element like screw, nut, stud, truck, Anchor and distributed to all draftsman team to be standard to the project.
8. Implements RFI (Request for Information) and issues copies to all departments
9. Provide Monthly Report to Planning on progress and status of following:

1. Shop Drawings
2. Material, Sample, Mock-up and Sub-contractors submittals.
3. Design Coordination Meetings
4. Information Status
5. Variations
6. Mock-ups

1. Review all shop drawings for coordination, and to make sure they comply with the contract, advise the Project Director if they deviate.

Coordinate and implement all As Built drawings, for the O & M Manuals for issue to the Client

1.  Coordinates and distributes all information to consultants for information/approval; for commercial and SCM for procurement and submittals
2. Coordinates design meetings and any specialist sub-contractor.

1. Each sheet of the shop drawing should have a legend  and should be readable
2. His plan should completely match with related Elevation/ section detail of each  shop drawing
3. Each sheet of shop drawing should be named as in shop drawing log and same reference number.
4. Create technical drawings based on given specifications and calculations.
5. Handle complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision.
6. Create drawings and models from written and verbal specifications obtained from Chief Designer / Project Engineer/Client.

1. Provides all drawings, specs, general specs, codes of practice to Commercial & SCM Department for the placing of the sub-contract order.

1. Compile material submittal schedules based on the database for procurement and tracking, issue to Designers for review, which will be forwarded to Client/Engineer for approval.

1. Monitor and action-drawing submittal to Consultants- Cover receipt stamps from Designers to Client/Engineer for approval and follow-up.
   Issue report to Planning Dept.

1. Design coordination with our sub-contract regarding shop drawings and liaison with the MEP Coordinator
2. Work with Design team/ Site Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards, and design documentation.
3. Work closely with Designers, Draftsmen, and Engineers to ensure coordination design effort is maintained.
4. Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule.
5. Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
6. Maintain all revisions of project drawings. Retain on file a copy of the Contract Drawings.
7. Develop comprehensively detailed drawings prior to site execution or joinery manufacture.
8. Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
9. Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
10. Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
11. Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.

5. OCCASIONAL DUTIES:

Attend Site/ Client Meetings if required for the necessary discussion of technical aspects related to detailed drawings and actual execution.

6. AUTHORITY: Chief Designer

7. WORKING RELATIONSHIP:

The Draftsman will have key relationships with the following stakeholders within the team:

1. Chief Designer: Daily Reporting and take guidance and advise
2. Project Manager: Submit the updated drawings to the site project manager and take updates from them on daily basis.

8. JOB FACTORS:

• Education, Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or similar field from a recognized and accredited institution.
• After 6 months from his appointed with LSI should get certified from Microsoft indicate he is professional in AutoCAD drawing
• Excellent rendering and presentation skills using 2D/3D graphics software such as 3D Studio Max, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Sketch up and similar software.

8.2 Experience: Six (6) years’ experience or more is desirable. However, it can be minimum of two (3) years as long as the candidate is able to possess the required skills, has creative design flair and came from reputed Architectural/Interior Design/Consultancy/Furniture company.
